Why I Review Unscented Products

I've dealt with severe scent sensitivity for over a decade. What most people experience as a pleasant fragrance can trigger headaches, nausea, and respiratory issues for me. Over the years, I've learned that "fragrance-free" on a label doesn't always mean what you'd expect.

I started Unscented Unlimited to share what I've learned — which products actually deliver on the unscented promise, and which ones don't. Every single product on this site has been purchased with my own money and used in my daily life.

My Review Process

Every product I review goes through the same process:

• Purchase: I buy every product myself. No free samples, no PR packages.
• Daily use: I use each product for at least 2 weeks before reviewing.
• Scent test: I evaluate the scent at every stage — opening the package, during application, and after use.
• Honest assessment: I note both what works and what doesn't. If a product claims to be unscented but has a noticeable smell, I'll call that out.

The Scent Score

I created the Scent Score rating specifically for this site. It measures how truly unscented a product is on a 1–5 scale:

• 5/5 — Completely Unscented: Zero detectable scent at any stage.
• 4-4.5 — Nearly Unscented: Very faint scent from active ingredients, not fragrance.
• 3-3.5 — Mild Natural Scent: Noticeable natural ingredient smell that fades quickly.
• 1-2.5 — Not Recommended: Too much scent for most sensitive individuals.
